Everyone Should Go To Classical Music Recitals Once In A While

Classical music was never my choice, until recently. I had thought music without a voice was dull and lifeless, that is why I love to listen to unique voices, e.g. Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Hilary Duff, Adele, just to name a few. However, as I grow, I love to explore other genres of music. Finally, I was led to the realm of classical music, by Miloš Karadaglić, a classical guitarist from Montenegro.

In May, I went to his first recital in Hong Kong, (Yes, I know it's July now, I'm reminiscing the moments, alright?) where he also accepted an award because his album has certified gold in Hong Kong.

The following is the thing I wrote back in May, some thing I would like to share with you all:

Tonight was an AWESOME night.
I was sweating until I got to the venue(Appreciated the air-con). It was hot and damp, and I picked the wrong tee. It was thick and no air could get in.

I was sitting on the 4th row and it was close enough to see clearly how he played his guitar with all the passion and emotions. You know it must really be something HUGE when Milos played with stressed eyebrows. He was so focused, yet his piece is so relaxing. There was no rush at all in this hustle bustle city. Inside this auditorium, I felt like I was not in Hong Kong, but somewhere so peaceful and wonderful, and that feeling lasted for a while after the recital was over.

At some point I saw and heard him sneeze, and he explained it was the air-conditioning. Again, we laughed.

Actually, he walked towards the same wrong door twice and he needed  staff to open the right one for him (which was next to the wrong door). That moment was so funny and genuine.

We clapped, he came out and bowed for our support, and he left.
Basically he did 3 more pieces for the encore part of the show. I guess he didn't think we would keep clapping for so long and for 3 times! Because he himself was having a difficulty choosing another new piece to perform.
He did showcase a piece from his next recording, which will be out in June (It was out already, go get it!) , and another piece which I forgot. The last piece was Spanish Romance -- one of my favorite piece on this record.
I was happy to have an opportunity to be in the audience, and I encourage everyone, especially those who think they are so busy and can't squeeze an evening to relax. There's no end to the word "WORK", but there's always a start where you try to make time for something, something which is good for you. Whether you see the performance as a refreshment, an entertainment or whatnot, you really need to take some time off and enjoy what life has to offer. No one deserves to work all day.
